As you’ve probably noticed, we talk about more than a few products — software, Web applications, books — on this blog. We use those products and, for the most part, have no personal relationship with the people behind those products. Nor do we have any business relationship with the companies that put out those products.
For the most part. In some cases, we do get review copies of books from publishers and authors. However, we are never offered (and would refuse) payment for writing and publishing a review.
There’s also a bit of advertising in this space. Not very much, and we hope that it’s unobtrusive. What little we make from advertising pays for our Web hosting and pays our guest posters.
That said, we’re not deluged with requests to review or endorse products. We’re not fighting off prospective advertisers. There’s not even a trickle of such requests, to be honest. Any products that we write about in this space we use and, in many cases, pay for out of our own pockets or PayPal account. We try to write about those products in as a critical and an unbiased manner as possible.
Our thoughts and opinions are our own. They can’t be bought or rented.
