Tom Johnson hasn’t had an easy time of it lately. His tech comm social news site, Writer River, was recently hacked and Tom decided to dump the software it ran on and re-did the site using WordPress. You can read more about Tom’s travails here

I think that I like the new version of Writer River — the design is simpler and cleaner, and as Tom writes it’s:

more Twitter-like than Digg-like, powered by WordPress rather than Pligg. More detailed author profiles appear, there shouldn’t be any spam or hackers, and you don’t need to worry about all the voting.

If you had an account with the old version of the site, you’ll have to register again to post to Writer River 2.0.
