Creating robust personas

A few posts back, I mentioned my ambivalence towards personas. They can be useful, but they have their limits. User interface expert Jared Spool recently weighed in on this subject, and came out in favour of personas.

Not just any personas, but robust personas — ones which are based on actual field research and interviews with people about how they intend to use a product or service.
