DMN Communications is please to announce that Scott Nesbitt will be presenting at DocTrain East 2008 in Burlington, MA on October 31.
Scott's session, titled Creating Quality Content with Open Source Tools, will highlight the strengths and drawbacks of Open Source tools, introduce some techniques for developing content the Open Source way, and give attendees a peek at how some vendors use Open Source tools for their documentation and collateral.
"I've been using Open Source software both personally and professionally for a number of years," Nesbitt said. "And I firmly believe that technical communicators can create quality, professional documentation with these tools." He adds "Open Source is often overlooked as an alternative to many of the so-called standard tools of our trade. I'm hoping that I can help change that view."
the DocTrain Conference Series brings together industry professionals, management, vendors, standards bodies, and others interested in learning about the latest tools, processes, and technologies for technical communicators. You can learn more about the conferences here.
