DMN Communications to participate in panel at DocTrain West 2008

December 28, 2007

DMN Communications is proud to announce that Aaron Davis and Scott Nesbitt have been invited to participate in a high-profile panel discussion at DocTrain West 2008 in Vancouver.

Davis and Nesbitt will be joining leading bloggers Scott Abel, Darren Barefoot, and Tom Johnson to talk about blogging and technical communications. Moderated by Anne Gentle, the session will look at the:

... intersections of blogging, information development and architecture, and just plain technical writing from writers who are producing blogs with technical communications in mind. In this panel discussion, several bloggers talk about web logs, subscription feeds, and RSS, describe blogging from their perspective, and discuss the organic growth of user communities and documentation. Each blogger has a different view point and all come from varied backgrounds and job titles. Hear stories about blogging and connect with the people whose posts you read. Ask questions about writing, content wrangling, being barefoot, or wikis.

"The panel definitely sounds like it will be an interesting and informative session," said Scott Nesbitt. "Not only for the audience but also for the participants. I'm sure that there will be a number of points on which we agree and others on which we'll disagree. But overall I'm expecting to teach, entertain, and to learn."

"We're really looking forward to this panel," added DMN's Aaron Davis added. "It expands upon a great podcast that we did with Tom Johnson earlier this year. The fact that we'll be rubbing shoulders with, and I hope learning from, some of the top bloggers in our field makes participating in this panel all the more special."

DocTrain is a leading conference aimed at technical communicators of all stripes. You can learn more about the conference here.
